Summer Smoothies

Our immune system does a remarkable job and as it is constantly working, its strength is determined by all food and vitamins a body gets. Healthy vitamins and minerals are needed to increase immunity, and luckily all these can be found in tasteful smoothies. As summer is approaching and people want to get in shape, it is easy to replace one meal with a vitamin-rich smoothie. Whether from fruits, vegetables, or a mixture of both a smoothie will help to strengthen your immune system and it tastes delicious. Here we present a list of healthy juices packed with essential nutrients that will delight your body.

Grapefruit and Orange

A smoothie made from grapefruits and oranges is full of vitamin C that is rich in antioxidants. So, this vitamin also called Ascorbic Acid enhances cell protection against death from oxidative stress. A deficiency of this vital vitamin will cause the inability to fight infections, delayed wound healing and impaired immune response. The healthy combination of grapefruit and orange contains more than enough vitamin C for daily intake as well as, it is rich in zinc and folic acid.

Apple, Carrot, and Orange Juice

These fruits can be obtained easily at any supermarket, or at your local fruits and vegetable market. This healthy combination can help your body fight off infections and protect itself from likely diseases. Vision is also improved by the beta-carotene contained in these juices. A combination of apple, carrot, and orange juice is not only rich in vitamins A, B-6, and C, but also can be called a source of potassium and folic acid. Carrot juice contains more calcium than milk and is important for healthy teeth, bones, and joints.

Tomato Juice

Tomato juice can easily be made as no extra ingredients are needed. The process is easy because tomatoes are soft, free-dripping and can be even made without a blender. Tomatoes are rich sources of vitamin C, B1, B2, B6 and A, potassium and folate that helps to fight off infections. The plant pigment, which gives the red colour for tomatoes, acts as a strong antioxidant. It renders harmless free radicals that would otherwise cause damage to the cells of a body.
