The Melton Mowbray is close to the Vale of Belvoir and is translated by the locals as the “Beautiful View.” The market is located in the north-eastern part of Leicestershire and is dubbed as “England’s rural capital of food.” The market is famous for the Melton Mowbray Pork Pie, the Red Leicester cheese, the Stilton, and locally brewed ales, wines and Sloe Gin. The market is surrounded by a cool countryside where you can go for a quick picnic or a gentle breeze evening walk. The busiest day of the market is on Tuesdays because farmers and locals bring their stocks, antiques, and livestock for auctions. On Saturdays is the normal street market why people trade from the boots of their car on Sundays.
